Room Exit Configuration

One of the sites that I play on, though haven't been on all that often, I am having difficulty of the mapper picking up the exits properly to where I been having to manually make the adjustments to the links. Here's a sample output:

Temple of jHyhaD
[Exits: north west]
A familiar sight! The altar of jHyhaD is decorated with the usual
array of eagles in flight, and other signs of the god's power. The
statue stands proud...an aura around one upheld hand, the other
holding an open book. To the west are the living areas of the Priests
of jHyhaD, but you think those are restricted to the devout.

A priest is here, performing his absolutions.
A priest is here, performing his absolutions.

One other catch, if something else takes place between the time I send the direction and I enter into the room, the name of the room will appear on the same line as the prompt.

I would rather use the exit configuration, but so far all of the different things that makes logical sense including using keyword on exit line, either putting in the open square bracket with or without the tilde key as well as the colon with or without the tilde key doesn't appear to be working for me. If using the exit configuration thing doesn't work out, I will have no other choice, but to setup a trigger in the AutoMapper class to get around this issue. Help file hasn't been of much help either as I looked all through the relevant section on it just to be sure that I wasn't missing out on something.

TIA

I dunno how friendly your imms are but you could always petition your coders to add a blank line before the room title :P

Baring that you might be able to trigger on your prompt and psub/sub anything that shouldnt be there two 1 line lower

A search of the forums should reveal some ideas.

The trigger that I would setup would be something like:

~[Exits~: *~]

And it would be based on a New Line. From there, I would be using the %line %numwords, and %word functions to abstract the information and tell the mapper to setup which links.

And to tell the truth, I actually prefer the compact mode as it allows for me to see more at a time. There's a few items that may require a blank line for easier use like at the bottom of a room description.
