-----
Please see the Whats New in CMUD v3 help file topic and the Version History for details on new features, changes, and bug fixes. Download CMUD, CMUDPro or TeSSH from the Download page.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This Version requires the new Version 3 license key. See the Upgrade Instructions for getting your new key. If you purchased CMUD within the past 2 years, your upgrade will be FREE. Your previous v2.37 license key WILL NOT WORK with v3.x. You MUST get a new license, even if it is free.
Because v3 is a major version update, some changes may cause your previous scripts to break. It is very important to MAKE A BACKUP of your existing CMUD files in case you still need access to your previous scripts. v3.x has a new 30-day trial so you can test it before upgrading.
New Script Wizard allows you to create simple scripts step-by-step without needing to know anything about the CMUD scripting language. Especially great for creating simple triggers that color text from the MUD.
New Trigger Pattern Wizard helps you create a trigger pattern based upon text received from the MUD. Highlight the portion of the MUD text that changes and select the type of wildcard matching. Select multiple lines from the MUD and "merge" them into a valid trigger pattern. Great for learning how to create triggers without previous knowledge of regular expressions or patterns.
This 3.x version contains an improved mapper that integrates properly with the CMUD window docking system, allowing the map and the room properties windows to be properly docked. The new mapper architecture uses SQLite instead of Microsoft ADO/MDAC for the database, to improve compatibility on non-Windows systems, and to improve the mapper speed. The new mapper supports multiple tracked locations in a single map, allowing maps to be shared across sessions. The dockable room properties window has a graphical compass for moving around the MUD by clicking with the mouse. The user interface has been improved and the toolbars in the mapper are now customizable and saved across sessions. Room scripts are also much improved and fit better into the CMUD scripting architecture.
GMCP (Generic MUD Communication Protocol) support allows the mapper to work seamlessly on MUDs using GMCP (Achaea, Imperium, Aetolia, Lusternia, Midkemia, Aardwolf, etc). It also allows you to capture server-specific data such as character stats, equipment inventory, etc.
New Floating Buttons were added. Simply set the Toolbar property of a button to zero and it will float over the main MUD window. You can also Unlock the buttons and then drag/drop them using the mouse to whatever location you wish.
New String List and Table (database variable) code allows fully nested tables and greatly improved speed.
New SQL database commands and functions were added. CMUD can only open SQLite databases, but CMUDPro and TeSSH can open almost any database format, including MySQL, MS-SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, etc.
New Telnet features include xterm emulation support, including xterm 256 color mode and xterm mouse support. For Telnet character mode, a complete keyboard map can be used to determine exactly which control codes are sent to the server, and which are used to activate local macros or menu commands. Telnet option negotiation has been made more robust with proper separation of client and server options. EOR/GA operation has also been improved for MUDs that support it, making prompt triggers more reliable.
Many MXP bugs have been fixed, and a new option has been added to prevent MXP from being parsed from a MUD that hasn't negotiated the option, while leaving local MXP enabled for your scripts. This makes CMUD fully compliant with the MXP specification without the quirks that zMUD had.
Many other features, such as support for the zMUD Color Syntax codes, Enable/Disable scripts for class folders, Trigger Wizard and more have been added, with hundreds of bug fixes.
zMAPPER USERS: Because of the mapper database change in v3.x to SQLite, you will not be able to edit your new maps directly using the old zMapper software. A Map Converter program is provided in the Download area that allows you to convert the v3.x SQLite map database back to the zMapper MDB format. You can then edit the map in zMapper, then run the conversion program again to convert it back to CMUD 3.x format. |
