Firewalls and Mudding just dont mix . . . HELP???

Hey, it seems that a firewall was put between me and my mud. So, my Mud gave me root access to the server through something called ssh2 protocol. I am using SecureCRT. Is there a way to hook zMUD directly up to the mud server through my ssh2 connection??? Or is there a more current version of ZMud, or another program that can handle ssh2 stuff??? I am pretty computer stupid and need my hand held through the whole process.

Love zMud. . .I would suck if I had to give it up.

Thanks

Bailey

Port forwarding: Tunnel common TCP/IP protocols (for example, POP3, IMAP4, HTTP, SMTP) via SecureCRT to a remote Secure Shell server using a single, secure, multiplexed connection.

Figure out how to use this feature in SecureCRT... This should be what you're looking for.

Are you at all familiar with how satellites work? Someone at Point A sends a signal up to Point B (the satellite), which then sends some more info to Point C (usually back to Point A, but sometimes it can be some other target).

In port forwarding, you don't send stuff straight to the MUD because obviously it will get blocked. Therefore, you send it somewhere else, and that "somewhere else" will then shoot it over to your MUD.

I can't help you out with the actual process due to lack of experience/need, though.

Hmm..
Theres a thing at the top of this page which is called 'search' if you click on that, and type in 'ssh' then you get a whole list of things, including this one:

*Is not going to type everything twice*

If you try that and still have problems, call back :)
