Yes it would be a shortcut, and charname is actually the name of the mudicon you click on to get to your mud when you first start up

C:\zmud\zmud.exe Aardwolf

Result a pop up box that says: Cannot find character: Aardwolf
Clicking OK brings me to the usual selection screen.
The icon i click is called Aardwolf, and everything in the properties for it says Aardwolf so dunno whats up.

Its not the character name thats important its the Session ID
so if you have characters on different muds with the same name the session ID should be different.
To see and perhaps modify the Session ID, in the Zmud character selection screen, select the 'character' who's Session ID you wish to see/modify and hit the Edit Icon, this should bring up a screen showing Character properties which will show the Session ID of said character
this is the argument you pass to zmud when opening it

If i click on the icon in the connection window, char screen, database, mapper, status and several child capture windows all open properly.

When I tried this trick, and indeed it opens my character, but the window layout is completely trashed.
None of the windows are attached or where they should be.

Any clues as to why?
