Migration

Can anyone tell me the process to move zMud (registered, current version) from one computer to another? I want to (if possible) avoid losing any of my settings as it took FOREVER to get them how I have them now.

Thanx in advance,

Merc

Well, to move ZMud you do it this way:

1)make sure you have your order id handy (this is the registration code you got from Zuggsoft.com when you paid them money)
2)unlicense (I believe this is done by right-clicking on the actual zmud.exe icon)
3)uninstall
4)install on new computer
5)license (simply run ZMud once and it should prompt you)
6)resume playing

To move your settings, simply move over the char.mdb and related files from the main directory (ie, .lay files for layouts) and anything you want to keep from the MUD's directory (ie, .MUD files, .ZSC files, .MDB/DBD/DBT files, images, sounds, map files, etc). I am not sure this is the proper way to move settings, so you might have a few problems to work out.

Easiest way;

Close Zmud Copy Zmud folder, unlicense/uninstall if you want

on the other computer

Install Zmud, Paste the zmud folder ontop of the install (and overwrite) and voila
