Idea... |
After looking and reading around, it's clear that there isn't going to be a Linux client of zMUD.
Since there are numerous versions that are obsolete and forgotten, would it be possible to post the source code for one and let us 'Linux People' try and make it Linux compatible?

No, zMUD uses several custom Delphi components that are proprietary, as well as several 3rd party Delphi components that you'd need a license for.
I don't even keep old versions of source code. I have the source code for v7.05 and that's it. Sorry. |

I believe You can use the free version of zmud under linux with wine without a problem And I don't think you need a windows partition *but I could be wrong*. Its the newer version of zmud that are more complicated to get working correctly (mostly due to elicense and MDAC stuff). Just remember that even though your using the free version be sure to support Zuggsoft!

Eh, worth asking, though the answer I got was expected. I've asked for the source code for other good mud clients and its usually MFC dependencies that need to be ripped out or third party code that was depended on.
EDIT
Maybe I could try reverse engineering the free version and making a linux client called LMud |

Did you know that there are many open source clients already available for Linux? Seems a bit silly to be writing one yourself when others have already done most of the work for you. Try checking out SourceForge or just looking up clients on MudConnector. You'll find kmuddy to be fairly good, and many others, too.

I have been using KMuddy. Problem is that there isn't a wait command unless you make a Perl script.

So instead of making that perl-script, yer willing to do reverse engineering ? =P Sounds kinda like a far-fetched thing to do. Why not just develop the existing one?
