Multiplaying on a MUD?

Is it possible as an admin on a MUD to differentiate between two computers behind a router and one computer multiplaying two characters? An admin on Aetolia told me they had "ways to discover multiplaying".

And is it possible to multiplay with two different set of systems, settings and mappers running?

I am just wondering about the multiplaying support in Zmud, there is a whole chapter in the help files about it.

First, how mud administrators usually go about with multiplaying. Usually it's by IP address only, which mean unless your IP is marked as workstation (from school, etc,.) than your IP is only allow the desiginated amount of characters.
If they really want to differentiate between computers behind a router (which is rather pointless), they can use ur computer ID which can be requested through telnet protocol (which is what mud is run on). But as I say, this is pointless, because this ID can be faked, and etc,.

Word of advice, if ur mud do not allow multiple login, just use a second IP, how would you do that on a same computer, just obtain a shell account and bounce login. Take me for example, I have 3 IP, 1 is my home IP, 1 is school linux remote login, and one is telnet from the mud server I have. So I can telnet directly to the mud, telnet to school linux then telnet to the mud, and telnet to my own mud then telnet to the mud I play.
