Matching aliases and aliases with a variable.

As zMUD doesnt let me have two aliases for the same word, is there a way to make an alias that does 'emote laughs at the crazy happeninings.' when i type 'laugh' but does 'emote laughs at %1' when i type 'laugh xxx' where xx is a persons name?

I pasted this to the command line on a whim. what I ended up with however, was the following:
alias.name: Laugh
alias.value: emote laughs at

I had to manually edit the alias.value to get the %if statement in.

I bring this up because it relates to the strange difficulty of importing even a simple one liner. Perhaps there is something I am missing or a setting that I have missed. Is there any way of reliably importing ASCII scripts?

This is because you use nondefault Preferences, such as Expand Vars.

You've already started a topic to discuss your perception of the difficulty of 'importing' ASCII settings. Please stop trying to divert other topics.
