30 Free Trial

A friend told me about zMUD the other day and I tried downloading zMUD 6.62 about 3 or 4 times, and it keeps saying that my Trial Has Expired.

This is the first time I have ever used it, so i'm not sure how it could be.

Could it be a problem using AOL, just a glitch, or what?

Most likely your problem arises from the fact you had an earlier ZMud trial version run out on you. Bits and pieces of what ZMud installed on your system do NOT get automatically removed when you run the uninstaller. If I'm not mistaken, this stuff is used to thwart easily-accomplished workarounds to pirating or otherwise bilking Zugg out of his rightful fee.

On the other hand, installing 2 versions of ZMud side-by-side allows for some artifacts to be left behind after uninstallation and the manual scrubbing. These artifacts would still be active and it's possible your legit trial copy is erroneously somehow using the artifacts.

Email Zugg (or Chiara, but I suspect Zugg would be the best source in this case). While the solution is actually very simple, it's not really something we should plaster up on the boards.

Better that Zugg holds the rope he hangs with than me, figuratively speaking.
