Mapper help

Is there any way to make the mapper go from edit mode to follow mode automatically when u dbl-click on a room (speedwalk)?
I once in a while forget to change to follow mode, and , apart from slowing the movement, if something goes wrong it messes the map up
I even think the mapper should do this automatically, but this is beyond the scope here ;)
