help with mapper questions

ok I just can't seem to find anything in the help files to really help me out or maybe I missed something
ok I know I can only set 1 recall position so what I want to do than is use #teleport
or to have a trigger to find my positon on the mud
so far if I have the mapper open I cant seem to get find to work it just does a look command but doesnt update anything
what am I doing wrong here?
the other thing Id like to set up with a trigger is if I gate/teleport to a different room/area to update the map to my new location , again I cant seem to get anything to work right
