non standard exits not mapping

I am having problems getting "in" and "out" to map correctly. I set the directions/reverse directions/commands for both in the system/directions. The mapper does not see these exits when I map a new room.

IN

Directions: i
Reverse: o
Commands: i|in
Map: NONE (only 'other' option)

OUT

Directions: o
Reverse: i
Commands: o|out
Map: NONE

Anyone know how to fix this?

Sample:

You see exits leading down (closed door) and out (open door).

The mapper will see 'down' but not out.

Keeper.

In relation to when you created these directions, what did you do next? Did you just start mapping? Did you close Zmud and restart it, or at least close out whatever character you were in and then reconnect from the Character window (the one that appears each time you start ZMud)?

I've found that the mapper does not acknowledge any new Directions you create until you either close and reopen the character or ZMud itself (it's been so long since I had to create directions, so I don't recall which it is).

I'm curious. What do you expect the mapper to do with these directions? After all, you have the Map Direction set to NONE.

i might have tested mapping straight after, but since then I have restarted the game a number of times.

I want the mapper to recognise in and out when I enter a room and diplay the exits. If you add a direction to the system/direction class shouldnt the mapper automatically start looking for "in" and "out" as a new exit just like "north" and "south"???

Don't the other directions get set as OTHER in one format (gui/code) and NONE in the other, though both mean the same thing? I seem to recall one of the Gurus saying something about that.

I don't use the mapper much myself, I was just wondering.
