Split Window

Whenever I scroll with the scrollbar or the mousewheel on zMUD, it automatically 'Splits Window', and I do not want it to do this. So, how do you disable 'Auto-Split-Windowing'?

You don't. It's the only way to view the scrollback. [}:)] Instead, you'll have to disable the fingers which insist on trying to get to the scrollback. [xx(] (joke)

You can minimize the split-window appearance by dragging the divider bar to maximize whichever side of it you want to take up the screen.

Ohh,
in future zMUDs you should be able to disable it, because although sometimes it's useful, sometimes it gets on my nerves.

Is this still the only way to view scrollback?

and, is there a way to set a key command to open/close the split?

thanks

Open the scrollback buffer (by scrolling). Then grab the divider and pull it all the way down. This gets rid of the split screen (but causes other problems, I don't recommend it unless you're never at all worried about your character being attacked).

To toggle scrollback on/off, click on the small "minus" icon in the lower left where the scrollbars join.

I believe CTRL-Z is the default key for toggling the split. You can also use the SCROLLlock key. You can define a macro with the #KEY command and use the #FREEZE command to control splitting.
