Control key without Control-Alt combination

I might be missing something simple but is there anyway I can tell Zmud to send any control sequence to the mud or in my case BBS, for example when I press "CTRL-P" I want it to send it to the BBS instead of trying to print. Any thoughts? I'm sure it's something stupid.
