inherited triggers are killin' me

OK, i am guessing that this topic has been talked about at least once before, but after searching the forums, I couldn't find anything, so I'll bring it up again.

When I create a trigger using the settings editor (v7.03), it works as desired. However, the next time I execute ZMud, the trigger seems to fire twice. For example:

1. In my initial session of Zmud I create a trigger to send 'get body' to the MUD whenever I receive text indicating I have killed a foe. This works great.

2. Using the MUD's exit command, I quit the MUD and choose Quit ZMud from the popup dialog.

3. When I return later, the trigger works as desired, but a second 'get body' command is sent to the MUD each time the trigger is activated.

I traced this feature (???) to the fact that at some point, ZMud created an 'inherited trigger' (viewable in the same class folder by choosing View | Show Inherited from the Setting Editor menubar) that exactly duplicates the trigger I created. This inherited trigger is the one that sends the second (useless) command to the MUD. If I delete or disable this inherited trigger, then all is well until I again exit Zmud and restart it, upon which time I have the same issue.

The same thing happens with buttons (well gagues) I have created thus far. My gagues work very well but when I return to ZMud the next session, I have duplicates of all my gagues on my screen. Going into the class folders associated with these items, viewing and deleting the inherited buttons resolves the issue, but again, for that session only.

Can a Zmud expert out there tell me (1) the importance/use of inherited settings and (2) How I can disable this feature?

TIA!

*grrr* too much MUDding and not enough time searching on these forums. The issue has been reported several times and, having taken Lightbulb's advice, my problem is now solved. I shall briefly paraphrase Lightbulb's advice:

1. Exit the MUD & open ZMud
2. Instead of launching/conecting to the MUD, click on the MUD's icon and choose Edit from the popup menu
3. Go to the Files tab.
4. Make *sure* your settings file and inherited settings file choices are *not* the same and not set to the deafult.mud files.

That's it. Hope this helps someone else out there.
4. Make sure
