2 errors causing problems |
1. Access violation at address 00402aa9 in zmud.exe. Read of address FFFFFFFF.
This seems to have only happened once the first time I ran after installing the 6.66 upgrade. I recently uninstalled zmud alltogether and had to run the upgrade. I uninstalled due to the second error.
2. Every time I am online for 1hour. at the exact moment that the time online changes from 0:59:59 to 1:00:00 it perfoms and illegal operation and will be shut down. Click ok, it comes up with an error message, and sometimes has 2 more error boxes before it will shut down altogether at which point I can run again and be online again for 1hour. However, if at some point before the hour, I simply hit File, Reconnect, I am able to reconnect without interferring with my game, and it resets the online clock to 0, giving me the hour again.
I've sent a bug report on this, but as zugg is away for the holidays, I'm not expecting help anytime soon. Anyone have any ideas? |

For the first problem, it is a Read Access error. It means it tried to read from a pointer on the stack that does not exist, iirc. Not a lot you can do about that one.
For the second, check to see if you have an alarm that goes off after 1 hour of connection time. It will look something like this, on your Triggers page: -1:00:00. Try deleting it, if its not important. |

Ok, the first error has not re-occurred, was just the one time
upon installing the 6.66 upgrade.
However, the 1:00:00 illegal operations is still happening.
The other night it passed 1 hour fine, passed 2 hours fine, and finally
shut down at 3hours. But it has returned to 1hour now, without fail.
I don't see any triggers that would affect this. The only script I
can think of that might be involved is one that displays time to the
status bar. Basically, when I cast Sanctuary on myself, it assigns
the number of ticks on the spell to a variable, that is then
multiplied by the number of seconds per tick, and starts a countdown
in the status bar so that I know when the spell will wear off.
As far as I know there is no connection between the spell reaching 0
and the illegal operation, as it is always at exactly 59:59 that it
decides to shut down.

Disable that counter. Let it run and see what happens. There's a lot techincal mumbo jumbo that could be said, but i ain't smart enough. More than likely the counter is using a piece of Zmuds time stuff and Zmud might in fact not like it for some reason. I don't do alot with counting seconds except a few limited 5 second alarms, but you may have found an unknown bug in that Zmud has a problem with a time count of 5000000 or some such.

oh and the 1st error, something was mentioned in the Beta Forum ( i think it was) about that. Had the same problem with mine, but never again. If i remember it correctly, it had something to do with creating the default characters and getting icons for them. (you know the FAQ character, the E-License Character... etc)
