Help finding a trigger.

At some undetermined time, a trigger was created in my trigset that has trouble with large lines of text. If I am in a room with a long desc that is all one line (not counting mud wrapping) zmud will lag for 2 to 3 seconds. My cursor stops flashing. I have emailed my trigs to another computer (much better hardware) and it does not hang the same but the proc usage jumps way up. If I disable triggers the behaviour disappears.

I have disable every single class individually and afaik every sing trig outside a class. This hanging only seemed to go away when trigs were disabled.

I have made zmud as verbose as I know how, and whatever its trying to match (as I assume thats what it's doing) does not match so zmud gives no extra output. Anyone know of a good way to track this problem? Zmud 6.66 at the moment, had same problem with 6.62

Have you tried turning on Menu:View|Preferences|Script Parser|Show Triggers ?
This should show you any triggers that are being set off by that line.

I have a similar problem on my computer, but I attribute it to a different problem. I have appx. 500-700k worth of triggers, aliases, etc, and I am using an archaic machine. When I transferred all my stuff to a different machine, the lag problem went away. Your problem might be that your machine is simply parsing the entire huge paragraph looking for everything. When there's a lot of text to comb, combined with a lot of triggers to match, you'll get a lag.

Just my 2c.

Thanks for responding people.

Yes SolReapr, I have turned that on, and nothing is being set off :(. I am assuming it is a funky pattern I have somewhere, because it wasn't like zmud slowed down as I added trigs, it ran fine, then it just starting hanging like this on large amounts of text. I guess I just have to unlazy, remove all my trigs and start anew.

Well after a few months of frustration here is what we have.
I was still getting this slowness with 0, thats right absolutley 0 triggers, on two different systems.
The cause? Zmuds logging facility is either not that good, or for some reason does not work well with my mud.
Nice little FYI out there for people who may be logging and having some slowness.
