Program responding to the escape key - possible? |
The escape key kills "#wait" and slow walks. It may stop other things.
Quite rightly it doesn't kill everything. But it would be nice to have some of my scripts piggy back on this function to stop processing rather than assigning a new key.
So is there a way for a script to detect the escape key? |

You might be able to assign a macro to the escape key and give it a detectable action. Of course, that would stop it clearing #WAIT and slow walks.

I had no luck creating a macro for the escape key. The object editor (or whatever it is called) doesn't recognise the escape character.
The command:
#key ESCAPE {#say "escape key"}
does not give an error but doesn't create the macro either.
The command:
#key ESC {#say "escape key"}
does create the macro ESC but doesn't seem to affect the function of the escape key. I.e. the message from the #say does not occur. |
