Looking for a Recommendation... |
I hope I'm not breaking the forum rules by asking this here, but here goes...
I've finally decided to dust off my zMUD license and get back into mudding after god knows how long of a break (at least a year, it's been a while) but I was wondering if anyone knew of a mud, or some muds, that have a focus on more than just combat. Typically combat plays a big role in every aspect of a mud, even if they offer extras that allow you to build a character outside of combat, you still have to do a lot of combat. (One hell of a confusings sentence)
Anyways, I'm looking for a mud that you can play beyond that scope, if that's at all possible? I don't mind fighting every now and then, but I want to see some sort of trade skill focus over combat skill focus. I don't really know how to explain what I'm looking for any better than that, even though it is a big vague. |

Thanks for the Towers of Jadri, I'll check it out.
Also, I've been using MudConnect, and so far every mud I've tried that has a promising description/web site has failed miserably. I'm about to just start trying out pay-to-play muds (which I don't have a problem with, but I didn't want to start playing one, get past the trial stage and find out that even if it does have some sort of non-combat oriented focus (like crafting or something) it still requires a significant amount of useless combat for money or experience). |

Though it is a pay MUD ($12.95/mo for basic account, 1st month is free), Simutronic's DragonRealms has many, many aspects outside of combat. In fact, of the 10 guilds, 3 require little to no combat in order to advance. www.play.net
