Char: Record not found.

That's what it actually says when I try to run my newly-upgraded zMUD. It just hangs there for some reason and the program freezes. I can't run it. Please help!

Here's its screen cap:

The first thing to try is rename the zmud.ini file to something else. If that fixes it then you should adjust your global preferences back to how they were, and delete the old ini.

1)click on start bar
2)click search (when it asks, type in "zmud.ini")
3)on the results page, right-click on the zmud.ini file and choose rename from the right-click menu
4)rename file
5)click somewhere else to apply the rename
6)start up zmud

If you still get the error, something else is messed up.

If you still get the error after that, here is another set of steps to follow:
1) copy chardb.mdb to some temporary directory
2) delete all chardb.* files
3) run ZMUD 6.61, press "OK" and then "QUIT". New chardb.mdb has to be created.
4) replace this new chardb.mdb with previously saved one.

This solution is brought to you by Snark.

OMG!
Thank You (5x)!
That totally worked!
Phew! That was too close, I thought I lost zMUD forever! That would be ~really~ bad.
Thanks again! ^_^
