This is silly and petty. But...

It seems Zmud (I'm on 6.16, by the way) ignores tab stops in the mud output. Columns arent aligned properly.

Here's an example...

Rank Guild Kills Deaths Total Score
1. Paladins 249 130 735622
2. Knights 114 125 395226
3. Alchemists 90 88 306806
4. Sorcerers 89 54 237771
5. Rangers 52 84 158090
6. Bards 40 85 111818
7. Bandits 32 62 99526
8. Wizards 35 49 94685
9. Warlocks 6 3 20839
10. Astrologers 6 5 12680
11. Prophets 4 31 4387
12. Warriors 0 3 0

This example is a minor annoyance. Its quite a different story when I'm reading a shopping list or something more complicated. I had to misalign the columns in the example manually because when I copy and paste or see it in a log, the tab stops are correct. Is there something in prefs that would fix this? (I'm not sure if this matters, but my mud is custom coded and supports Telnet protocol)

Sorry if this seems lame and whiney, but it's REALLY annoying me!

Thanks, Aja

PS, I just looked at the preview of this post and spaces have been removed from the colums altogether...*ponder*

To retain the extra spaces, click the button with the # as it's picture and place your text within the forum tags it generates (that would be the CODE tag).

You want to take care when using this tag, since it expands your post margins to the longest line length (which can go far off-screen).

If you are just trying to capture the stuff you can use %s to get rid of the spaces...if you are just trying to read it, forget I spoke :)

Not positive, but I think I've seen similar problems when not using a fixed-width font for mud output. This may or may not be what is going on.

-Edit- If the output looks just like your modified post, then it probably is not a font issue.

Appears to be the same number of spaces in between each. Not sure if that is a zMUD problem or what, but I can think of a quick fix to make it easier to read, in theory at least.

Either have a trigger to capture all the stuff into a DB then spit it back out, or capture it as variables and #SAY/#ECHO or something. I had a small trouble like that on the mud I play with the clans list, hehe

I don't seem to get the problem with the tabs. Perhaps it's the font, like mentioned above?
