Where do I change this in ZMUD?

My zmud is apparently ignoring this character "ESCAPE[3m"

Where in zmud do I change it to active?

You don't. It's an unused ANSI control sequence. "Unused" means it doesn't have a defined action. Since there's no action assigned to it, all ANSI terminals (including zMUD) ignore it.

ANSI codes ending in "m" are used to control text color and attributes (blinking, underline, etc). They do not change the cursor position. So even if it did something, the cursor would still be sitting at the end of your prompt.

You should tell your IMM to use standard codes instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

You could use an ANSI Trigger and #SUB it into whatever you want it to do.
