Window Layouts |
This is prolly a simple thing to fix, but i just can't figure it out.
I have a couple capture screens that open up each time I start zmud ... I'm assuming they are part of my settings file. How do i turn them off? I don't want them to open up anymore ... I'm not capturing text to those windows anymore, so as it is right now, I have to close them each time I start zmud
thanks for your help |

Heh, I had this problem too, tho it was probably a little different. I had a class for my capture windows, and after a while they annoyed me, so I disabled the class and it was fine till I upgraded. When I upgraded the windows kept popping up whenever I ran zMud, and everytime I would delete the class, but when I closed zMud and then ran it again sometime later, the class would be back, and the windows would all pop up again. Also, windows that were clearly nolonger in the class were opening, because I had like a test window, and windows with names I hadn't used in a long time. Finally I got tired of it, and followed the Migration guide to import my settings, and made sure that the capture window class didnt get imported with the rest of my settings. Havent had the problem since.Hope that helps.

Did you happen to save the layout? If so, then you'll have to close the child windows and then save the layout again.

Yeah, I had a similar problem but solved it by not only saving my new layout but also saving my settings as well.

You might want to check your Zmud directory (or your hard-drive) for an unnamed .lay file. There's a bug with the Save Layout feature that occasionally causes ZMud to save to ".lay" instead of "YourMUD.lay".
This mostly happens in cases where the layout file is not yet created or specified, but it's happened to me many times after the specified layout file exists.
