Problems with frequent disconnects |
Hello.
I have used CMUD before, and recently began using it again. The problem I keep running into is that I am getting continually disconnected from my mud game server. I have tried different muds, via CMUD, with the same results. If I access them via MushClient, I do not get disconnected. Is there a setting I need to change in order to keep the client from disconnecting me from the given mud server? In the past, (using the same updated client from 2011) I do not remember having this problem.
Any help would be great!
Thanks |

I have experienced similar issues in some games, though certainly not all of them.
The easiest way I have found to get around it is with a keep-alive trigger that sends an innocuous command to the game at given intervals.
#ALARM -60 "keepAlive" {xp}
That will fire once a minute. |

Thanks for the reply. I am not experienced in creating triggers. Do I create the trigger on the main cmud window, or create it in each game? Could you help me in knowing how to create the trigger. Do I create it under the ''pattern' tab, or the 'wizard' tab?. I tried the cmud help, but am confused. Any help would be great!

The syntax I used is meant to be entered from the general command line you play the game from, as it Vijilante's.
This is how it looks in the GUI:

If you experience issues with the Internet on your computer, where it connects and disconnects again and again, it could be due to multiple possible reasons.
