Keeping a layout

I've been trying to have a second window floating in the same spot for... since I started using Cmud, and I can't get it to stay still. Every time I open Cmud, it's tabbed, and I made sure to change it in its properties. Where else should I look?

Have you tried selecting "Auto-save Layout", or manually "Save Session Layout" from the Layout menu? I know it's obvious, but that's always the best place to start.

Ive had a similer issue. When I use the "auto save layour" Occasionally it will loose all of my windows but one, and make that the "main window" but not show anything. I have a "main window" follow by a xp, status, tells, PK, and tells window. These windows just capture stuff from the main screen. So my problem is when the main screen doesnt load, these additional windows are compleatly blank. Ive had to entirerly redo my setup several times over the last year because of this. No idea what causes this, no idea how to fix it. Anyone else ever have this happen?

@geniusclown: Yeah, I've tried both, and the window keeps resetting to being tabbed, for some reason. In the settings editor, I've also changed it to floating as well, to no avail. It sometimes even tries to connect to a server from the second window, etc.

You don't fix this sort of thing by anything you do from within the Package Editor regarding specific settings. Check out the SHIFT trick, the xml export/import process, the MapConvert v1.3 utility, and stuff about the sessions.db and sessionkeys.db files.
