as written only via #KEY does it work, I can't create a macro and then press the key combo I want in settings manager?

As mentioned in the documentation for Editing Macros:

This is the name of the key that the macro is assigned to. If you click on this field, a help message will be displayed at the bottom of the window instructing you to press the Enter key and then press the key you want to assign the macro to. |
So you need to press the Enter key and then press the key combo you want to use. |
