Unicode Support

I'm the zmud's user right now, after download the cmud 3.1x, I quite like the interface, speed, and new functions. Since I'm playing some chinese mud game, I felt very hard to write trigger for Cmud,

Last time I mention about this, the developer said could be start to develop around at Mar to April, could there be any news? I also can help for the beta version tester!

By the way, another question. Before I use the elder version of zmud, when I key in trigger or alias
I can "#trigger {pattern} {commands} {class} xxx <---code of the type of trigger
and I also can export the trigger to the text file.
but in cmud, how can I type in in multi line command?
and can it be support export to text file or somewhere ?

thanks.

1)unicode support. Things got pushed back. Zugg is focused on releasing a cousin of CMud that is aimed at business/network users instead of gamers, so basically unless it's a dire emergency or something he'll need as part of TeSSH he's sort of stopped working on CMud in order to get this other product out sooner. There's a website rewrite that goes along with that (you can see what it'll sort of be like by going to www.tessh.com). If I recall, Unicode Support is the next major project once CMud moves back to the #1 slot but Zugg may have decided to swap that with some mapper work.

At any rate, there's a sticky about the New Year's Letter that explains his order of priorities.

2)multiline commands. Nothing's changed from ZMud in this regard. For small stuff, you can just type into the command line (SHIFT_ENTER I think moves the cursor down to the next line, and the semi-colon still works as the command separator.) You can also use the Text Editor (umm, CTRL-ALT-ENTER?) for longer projects.

3)text import/export. No. This is not coming back for any reason. CMud does offer to import/export XML, which is how it stores the data in the package file databases, but if you want a text import/export function someone (yourself or someone else willing to write it) will need to write a script or plugin to handle it.

1) Unicode support is a huge priority for me. But it is not part of the 3.x release. Unicode will be the basis of the 4.x release cycle. So, until you see the 3.x public version finished and see me starting to work on the 4.x beta, then you'll know that I'm working on Unicode.

Unlike some features that have been promised in the past (chat, database module rewrite, more new mapper stuff, etc) Unicode is on the "must implement" list. This is because CMUD/TeSSH are written using Delphi IDE and the newer versions of Delphi require Unicode support. So in order to start using the new Delphi 2010 compiler (which I've already paid for and installed), I *must* update CMUD/TeSSH to fully support Unicode.

This is a huge task, which is why I'm not doing it for the 3.x release. For 3.x I'm still using the older Delphi 2007 compiler.

P.S. Also remember that everything always takes a lot longer than I expect. I was hoping to have 3.x done by now, but there has just been too much work to do with getting TeSSH released. Yesterday I noticed a post in the forums where I started talking about the 3.x Public version a YEAR ago. So yes, it always takes longer which is why I never promise any specific release dates.

Thanks for your great reply, I'm happy to hear that it's a huge priority for you. I'd purchase the cmud 3.16B, and trying the new stuff for testing...every function is great but just the unicode problem was incovinience for me.

So Once the software was supported unicode, I must be make Advertise on my web site, and how about the sponser banner? if the unicode support version release, we want to make the 1st banner in your site :P. But this can be discuss later, We are fully support you to make updates~ thanks a lot!
