Strange symbols on connect.

Hi,
I'm kinda new user of CMUD, so i'll have a noob question ;)
When i connect to mud (arkadia.rpg.pl : 23) it shows some strange symbols:

Quote:
Đť„;üQĎÁlô
$íP±”†ŕéŐőĺy‡ťĐůD±:A13T˜ž ˝‰
}˜(Ň%śű-"™–ĘÍĆż—-„cőλ˙»˙

Can any one tell me why? :)
It's kinda annoying.

P.S.
it's only for this mud

Open up the settings editor and there is probably a class in your main window called "Autolog" (it's probably also disabled). Inside it there will (again probably) be a few triggers. See if one of them is sending erroneous data.

I've had this happen once before for the Discworld Mud, but I was unable to reproduce the circumstances for getting the incorrect trigger to be created. If you could post what game you play and anything that would help narrow down this bug, that would be awesome.

Actually, same thing happens to me on Aardwolf. All that's in the autolog is the #CH and #PW. I think it has something to do with telnet options. I have to reconnect a number of times in order to get it to log in correctly, or work offline, disable triggers, enter the information in manually (I use #CH and #PW to make sure that's working) and I log in. The strange symbols always show up, triggers on or off. :/

Hm. I remember that when I had that problem, I was eventually able to track it down to a specific place/setting where it was being sent from... Um. Check the character name and password in the settings for that session? (In the Sessions dialog.)

Sounds like the MUD is not negotiating MCCP properly.

I don't see this problem on Aardwolf myself.

Turning on Strict Telnet in Options|General|Session|Emulation should fix this problem.

I see it there. Could it be an issue of timing (ie, net lag causing the expected order of bits to appear in a different order)? I never actually get stuck in garbage-character mode, but seeing the garbage happen is more than a rare occurrance when I log in.
