Well after messing with it a billion times and then reconfiguring I have fixed this problem.
However, I am curious as to what usually causes an access violation. Anybody know? |

Hmm I guess that would be it.
latest version of zmud. XP home sp2 for of windows.
If it is usually related to my OS then that would probably be why.
I never got them with just scripts alone but messing with a window i'll sometimes get an error. |

I think ZMud is prone to access violations because it allows you to structure player windows and trusts MS Windows will do that. For other programs they decide in advance what is allowed and compile, test. and release a product. Because there is no way to know what we will do, ZMud was never tested for that.

Welcome to the developer's seat. I realize that is not really apt but somebody gotta test.
I think the best approach is knowing your settings and being able to export and import those in text.
Gone are my days of 213 mysterious objects in my None folder. As I try new things I can see what gremlins I did. I still get access errors but for instance, I lost one of those when I deleted an ill defined button I had no idea was there. I also found my status definition was so badly written it bled text when I imported it. I stopped getting the access error there when I deleted that setting.
I bet there are other reasons for access violations too, recently I was on the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility page because I was curious about that in relation to program errors. In any case, ZMud is not very tolerant of my sloppy codes.
