Expanded variables

In the zmud preferences (Preferences > General > Script Parser > General Parsing) I noticed an option for "Expand vars". What does this mean?? I've been coding with this unchecked, if I check it will it do anything major to what I've scripted in my system so far?

All it means is that if you type @var on the command line, it expands it instead of sending a literal @var to the MUD
