Transferring settings between computers |
I move my settings between work and home quite regularly. While I know that eventually CMUD will use mymuds.com what, in the meantime, do you all think is the best way to keep all copies up to date with modified settings and maps?
Thanks! |

The other alternative is to upload the package(s) you want to package library on one computer, and download them from the other. Of course this makes them accessible to others. If you don't want to do that, then copying the packages is your best bet.

I would simply keep a Flash drive of some kind with the settings on it.

Mmm, just copy your whole My Documents\My Games\CMUD\MyMudName folder onto a drive, or email, or carrier pigeon or whatever, then paste it over the same folder wherever you go.

Thanks everyone!
I was hoping for someone to have a magic bullet but your responses are more than helpful. I had a few issues transferring settings but am glad to hear that transferring the folder is reliable.
Will post if I am able to create a miracle script or anything like that.... |
