Achaea Help Files - No text shown
 
Hey there,
Was wondering if you guys could help me out with a problem I'm having in cMud 2.36.

When I use certain commands to call up help files in Achaea, there are lines of text omitted in the return from the server. Now, when I look at it through the debugger screen, it's obvious Achaea is sending it back to me, but cMud blanks out those lines in my window. Below is a copy/paste of me using 2 such commands to call on help files through the debugger screen. Any help would be much appreciated.

For the command AB TATTOOS MINDSEYE I see absolutely nothing, but then with AB TATTOOS STARBURST I see the following and nothing else:

"This tattoo will work automatically upon your death, once you have touched it.
It will resurrect you immediately, and cause you to lose only half the normal"


Before asked, yes I have tried disabling all my triggers etc. I've made an entirely new session with nothing to try, and still I have the same problem. Also, at the advice of support, I've disabled my MCCP in the session settings. Thanks in advance.

Btw, just wanted to add to this that I've already been involved with this poster and couldn't reproduce the problem or figure it out, so I suggested he post here for other Achaea players to try it.

Also, I realize that the extra CR characters in the MUD capture is a possible problem. You'll see stuff like:

Inks: 1 Blue ink

which indicates Achaea is sending extra CR characters. I have replayed this exact text and it doesn't seem to cause the problem that Damus is having, but I have already sent an email to Achaea requesting that they fix this non-standard Telnet text and get rid of the extra CR in their help system.

I too am having this problem with CMud 3.03a and 2.37.

I guess they never fixed it? Is there a workaround? Can I have it ignore errant CRs that are not matched with a LF?

I have been using every version of zMud on Achaea since January 1999 and switched to cMud in early 2007 and have never seen such an issue. Currently running cMud 2.37

Cool, thanks for letting us know. I emailed them long ago about this, but I guess they only pay attention to problems with their actual players complain. Thanks for following up with them on this.
