Zmud or Map program on a Flash Drive? |
Hey guys :)
I work in a place where I have tons of free time on my hands (Cardiac Tech in a small town ICU). I can't go installing things on work computers & I can't access games and the like from the work computers due to policy/firewall/coworkers have issues with me doing homework let alone mudding :o.
I have a flash drive that holds 8 gigs & would like to install some program like Zmud's mapper that I can create maps & enter room titles/descriptions w/o having to install anything on a computer.
Right now, I have hand-drawn maps on graph paper & a word document to write the room descriptions.
I've tried using zmud 3.16, 7.12.... Failed w/ errors
Zmapper I tried, quickly ran out of memory & had huge #'s of errors doing the keyboard creation. (also ran into these errors on my very well equipped pc at home.)
Any ideas?

You can't, simple as that. zMUD needs to be installed.
There're plans for a version of CMUD that'll do this, though. |

I thought that version of CMUD would not contain any mapper? |

*sniff* *pout* *DOH!*
That truly does stink, it would be so much easier & quicker if I could do this :P Welp, at least I still have the job where I can do this for hours on end though :) |

It's the licensing part that doesn't work properly if you can't make changes to the registry on the machine you're running on.

You've got Zmud on a flash drive?
Which version of Zmud do you have?
Are you using the crack that disables the Zmud licensing part?
(note: I've OWNED Zmud for almost a decade, I'm not advocating stealing here.) |

I've used zMUD on a flash drive. Of course, it was so I didn't have to install the actual program on both systems. But if ShadowsPirate is able to use zMUD without the licensing, then he either has the free version (which is no longer supported) or is in fact stealing using a crack.

You should be able to use 3.16, or 4.62 (which I can point you to a download of) from a USB drive. Neither of those requires being installed, and I've run 4.62 from a Zip drive before.
