.map files and site search questions

I just started mudding again I bought CMUD a long time ago but never used it much so this is probably petty newb. I am trying to zone>import zone> a zmud .map file and keep getting a there was an error importing zone. This has happened for all my .map files. It could be something simple I haven't configured my mapped but I didn't think I had to to import a zone. If anyone could help me with this I would appreciate it.

Second:

what is going on with the search in this forum. It used to be useful I cant seem to get a reasonable search result anymore am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance

Sorry I cannot help much with the .map files. Perhaps someone like Vijilante can.
Seems like I recall that you needed to run a converter to make them .mdb but that could be a hallucination I had or something.
Try opening them in a newer Zmud and see how they work. *Basically Clueless*

The search has been less than admirable sense Zugg tried out Google search for the normal search box.
For the old search go to site -> search and it still works the way it used to.
If you are looking for old Zmud Beta forums they ARE beyond the reach or mere mortals. The rest of it is more or less still there.

I am under the impression that .map files are not supported in CMUD.

CMud doesn't provide any support for really old map formats. You could download zMud 7.21 and then use the zsConvert program included with it to bring the .map files into a more current format.

I can convert and open the files but each zone becomes a database in and of itself instead of a zone in the current database. Is there a way to open a map database and save it as a zone so that I can then open another and have them both in the same mdb?

You want to use the convert with a Master Map file. The extension it lists is .zzz. I don't seem to have any still hanging about in my archives to doublecheck the exact procedure.

Alternately you could download Charbal's ZoneCopy utility and combine the files you already have. I am pretty sure that is in the zMud plugins section.
