Recover password

Hello, I was wondering what the command was to ungag your password and show it when it's saved to zmud? I can't remember the password and my mud is making me change it but I have to type it out (#pw isn't working for it) but works when I log into the game. Thanks if you know how to do this. It used to be posted on the forums but this new forum search engine brings me diddly when I try to connect

There's a preference somewhere for it, but I can't remember where. Another thing you can use is the #debug command, which is documented in the CMUD help here (the name's been changed in CMUD).

Nope none of these work. Thanks for the suggestions though. This involves typing some command with a # or % which I can't remember. Something like #pw or pword or something with the pw ungagged which then displays the saved pw. If anyone knows I would really appreciate the help since my mud asks me to change my pw right now (mud got hacked recently) every single time I move a room.

Once you've turned off password gagging, you can type #show %pass or #show %pw and it should work. The #debug option will DEFINITELY work, if you use it to take a log of yourself entering the #pw command or of you logging on.

I was unsuccessful using the show password option in combination with logging or looking at the sessions.
However, the debug option worked perfectly. I just copied the debug example from the help file and did a search for the file on my computer.

I have succeeding in getting the information I have searched for.. but just curious what i was doing wrong for the "much simpler" option.

ZMud and CMud both gag any line containing the password. This is a preference setting turned on by default. You apparently forgot to turn that off, and went straight to #SHOW--which then encountered the preference setting and got gagged.

I did turn it off actually. In Cmud 3.34 it is located prefs/scripting/and removing the check "do not display password text"
it still does not show the password when i log in or by using #show %pass or %pw
