zMUD and WINE on Linux almost flawless

I've got zMUD running on my laptop that's using ubuntu 7.10 and everything is working great (that I'm aware of at this point) except for one small fluke. The command line where you enter arguments doesn't show the commands you've entered until AFTER you press enter to submit them or if you highlight them with your mouse. Anyone messed around with this at all? Or have any WINE Linux success stories?

I've not tried zMUD, but CMUD was working fine for me. The theming engine is gone from CMUD so it plays a lot nicer with things like WindowBlinds, Crossover, Windows 2000 etc

Some of the frontends for WINE make it better. For instance Crossover makes zMUD look pretty good normally, and a friend on a MUD said he was using zMUD on the MAC version of Crossover and thats how he was mudding since he likes zMUD better than Rapscallion :)

i've been playing with cMUD in wine and it is working well. I just own licensing for zMUD and was hoping to stick with that. Maybe I'll just suck it up and upgrade to cMUD

This has been covered before. I would have said to use search, except I couldn't find it with this forum's search.

You can go to wine's AppDB for zMud though.
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3806&iTestingId=3445

Basically the problem is wine's richedit control. You can either turn off spellchecking, or tell wine to use native riched20.

Here's a more complete zMud + linux + Wine thread:
