Newbie question

I don't really know much about scripting but i could use some help with this one.

I need a script that takes a series of words and replaces them with something else.
For example there is an npc guard named Dave, but the mud just displays his name as
A Town Guard. I want a script that makes "A Town Guard" show up as "Dave"

Thanks

#trig {A Town Guard} {#sub Dave}

But this will do it every time the words "A Town Guard" appear in the text. If you need something more specific, be more specific.
