CMud, MySql Connector, COM, And Vista |
Anyone had any success connection to mysql in cmud yet? I know i used to be able to connect in zmud in winxp, but i havent had any success with cmud and vista yet. Any com changes or bugs i should know about?

There aren't any outstanding COM bugs that I remember; make sure the SQL COM server you're trying to access is installed and working in Vista.

You can also try connecting to MySQL in lua using the LuaSQL library.
I've found it pretty easy to use for MySQL and for Sqlite3 |

COM can be a little picky in CMud. It is a small change, but one to be aware of. Basically be as versose as possible and COM will work perfectly.
For example zMud was happy with you doing something like this, "var=%zmud;var2=@var.Session(1).AliasNum(3)", but CMud won't be happy with that. Also it won't complain about it just won't work. I also tend to avoid using local variables for COM, as they didn't work at one point. I just find using a verbose #VAR syntax to be solid, and that is what I am going for in my published scripts. |
