So I open zmud, but it doesn't open

No, it's not a license thing. I already have my license installed.

I double click my zmud icon, you can see the startup window initializing, and then...nothing.

It opens. I can see it in my taskbar. But I can't get it to maximize. In Windows XP, I just drag the taskbar down so that it disappears at the bottom of the screen, and then a tiny little zmud window opens that I have to resize, but in Vista, I can't do this. I try alt-tabbing to it, I try clicking on it in the taskbar, I try right-click/restore, and nothing works to get it to pop up fully.

To make things more "interesting", I can actually (in Vista), see the application when I hover over the button in the taskbar, and, interestingly enough, enter information (If you have Vista, you know what I'm talking about). I can actually log onto my mud, but...I simply can't see what the hell I'm doing, I can simply log in

What I want to know is why it opens this way, and how I can prevent it? I have uninstalled and reinstalled, yet the problem persists. This happens on multiple computers with different Windows operating systems.

Open the program.

Right click the tab in the task bar and click move. Then release the mouse and use your arrow keys to zoom the window around till it is where you want it.
Then click your mouse and you are done.

If there is no task bar icon, open the task manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del or right click on the task bar and select the menu item). Click on the Processes tab, and find Zmud.exe in the leftmost column. (If you click on the Image Name column header, it will sort by name.) If you find it, right click on that row, and select End Process.
