bug in %defined

I believe there is a bug in %defined. It does not seem to work with pathnames.
Here is a code snippet to demonstrate.
#unvar ./foobar
#var ./foobar 6
#show @{./foobar}
#show %defined(foobar)
#show %defined(./foobar)
%defined recognizes foobar, but not ./foobar. |
