Er... to use for what? Stealing them from games is always good (WoW, Half-Life, etc etc) if you just want to play them while you're MUDding.

yeah..im curious as to the muding with sounds. Theres been alot of noise about how CMud handels sounds better that I was curious and wanted to try it.. I know how to use *PLAY but i find hearing a full revision of Beethovans 5th with each hit a bit tedious. :)

Nick them from fantasy games like Oblivion, WoW and Morrowind. They've got plenty of mp3s just sitting in directories of people going "urgh" and "argh" and things going "clang" :)

Hrm. it is one thing for us to use a file from a game we bought, quite another for us to post a file so other people can upload them.
Do a search on google for game demos, or just mp3 sound effects.
I found rat sounds for ratting in Achaea that way. |

The problem with posting sounds is that firstly that they're big and I don't have the upload bandwidth, and secondly because it's quite illegal :|
You could try using a program like Total Recorder to rip sounds from YouTube or something. |
