[1.22] Closing sessions via the file menu. |
Fresh install. Open CMUD. Press Esc. Go File -> Close session.
Works with any session, it's just easiest to demonstrate with the untitled one.
The untitled window disappears entirely for me, leaving a big grey space where previously the black background and stuff were. If you open another session, the window for that session then doesn't appear, the screen just stays grey. |

Yes. I just submitted this as an automated exception report. The worst part was not being able to open a new session and see the output window, though the crashing when trying to close all sessions wasn't pretty, either.

I've been having the same problem.. None of my new session windows open anymore when I open a session. It's quite annoying! (the really old sessions still open correctly though..)
It appears though that the new window does exist, and that you can still get at them if you click on Window on the menu, and select the window from [the bottom of ]the drop down list. clicking on Next Window won't make it appear.
On another note, can we have some sort of Reset Layout button, like the one in zmud? |

Damn, I wish I knew how stuff like this breaks. I tested the Close Session stuff for hours last week and it worked fine. Don't know why it's suddenly so screwed up.

The way to do that in CMUD is to use Layout/Load Layout and then select the default CMUD.XLY layout file. Or uncheck the Use Layout option in the Files tab for your character.
There is also a Reset Windows command that you can add to your toolbar using the Customization options. But since this causes all windows to get undocked, it's not pretty.
The zMUD Reset Layout doesn't work because of the difference in the Docking engine used in CMUD. There is no way to "reset" a window without undocking it, and most people found that undocking all of the windows was worse than what it was like when you started. Once a window gets screwed up, there is no magic way for CMUD to know how to reset a window. The best procedure is to locate the window via the Windows menu, as mentioned above.
Anyway, I'll see if I can figure out what is going on with this session layout stuff. It's very frustrating. So much for a public version today. |

Lol.. yeah.. i had to try it. I happened to have the Options window open when i pressed the button, and it caused the drop down boxes in the active tab to auto expand and fly all over the place |

OK, actually, I mispoke. This is working (mostly) properly.
When you open CMUD, it creates a default blank session for you (Untitled) so that you have somewhere to play if you just close the session window without selecting a session. This default session window is marked as "replaceable" so that if you DO select a session, the session you select replaced the Untitled session.
When you close the session window and then select File/Close Session, you are closing this default Untitled session. So of course the screen is blank/gray. You just closed the session, so what did you expect to happen?
Now, the bug is that loading a new session doesn't properly load it's layout, and that's why the screen remains gray and you have to locate your loaded session via the Windows menu, but this is fixed for 1.23.
But closing the last remaining session on the screen is always going to leave you with a blank/gray screen. |

The reason I mentioned that first is because it didn't work that way in previous versions. When the settings diaglog opened again, the untitled window magically reappeared. Fair enough if the actual bug is fixed, though ^_^

I still managed to get the gray windowless area in 1.23 and had to go to the Window menu to make the session window visible.
Here's what I did (fresh install):
1. Opened CMUD.
2. Opened Lusternia offline.
3. Created package "Palisade Gear Tracking" (not downloading my library copy).
4. Imported my gear tracking script by executing it on the command line. Looked good and worked well.
5. File -> Close all. Okay, it's supposed to be gray, so that's fine.
6. Open Lusternia offline again, and screen is still gray. Had to use Window -> Lusternia to get it back.
(Steps 3 and 4 are optional. I just tested it without going through the package editing, and using the Imperian session offline instead.)
Is it just me? |
