[1.13] Edit Window does not come back from Minimize properly |
Reproduce:
Open a new session and bring up the Edit window (Ctrl+Shift+Enter).
Minimize the window. (it minimizes to a stupid spot for me, minor bug)
Restore the window.
Result:
The window is graphically messed up when restored.
Expected Result:
The window restores normally.
Workaround:
Move the Edit window a bit by dragging its titlebar, and the contents of the window return to normal. |

How about a video. Once again, it's really big (2.8MB), despite being short (about 10 seconds).

What are you using to grab the video?
SnagIt is a great program for doing video screen grabs and compresses nicely. |

SnagIt makes screen captures... I need screen videos. I'm using CamStudio, a free app. I could make them smaller, but I'd need to find a program for encoding the AVI file into some other codec... can't find a free one.

I downloaded CamStudio and it was able to create AVI's in a bunch of different formats
The only codec pack I use is the K-Lite Codec Pack, which I believe is free and legit
For reference, a 10 second capture of my desktop with no mouse movement (on default '70' quality) took
3.16MB Microsoft Video 1
187KB XviD MPEG-4 Codec
100KB x264 - H264/AVC encoder
2.47MB Microsoft Windows Media Video 9
So potentially huge reductions |

Take a look at the latest version of SnagIt, I wouldn't have said it was good for doing screen video and compressing them if it wasn't able to do so.

I downloaded SnagIt, just to see how it compares to CamStudio - can't find the video capture options, just stills.
Looks like it's another product they do called Camtasia that does videos. |

For screen capture Video, I use AVI Screen Classic (It's free on download.com aka cnet)
And for video conversion/editing/encoding I use VirtualDub. (Also free at virtualdub.org)
Personally I find that videos encoded with divX or Xvid tend to be the smallest and you rarely need resolution greater that 320X240 for anything that you don't intend to use in HD. |

Provided you don't install RealAlt or QuicktimeAlt that's probably true :P |

It's under the Capture menu, you can turn the method to Video instead of picture. I've not even looked at Camtasia so no idea what it does. |
