Excluding a line from information picked up by mapper |
The first line of the description, which is a new paragraph after the room name, sometimes starts with something giving the time of day 'It is night' etc. Is there a way of ignoring certain phrases so they don't get put into the room description that is collected?

#NOMAP is what you want.

I tried #NOMAP but it seems to remove the whole of the description - not just the first sentence.

#NOMAP will remove the entire line which matches the trigger. If the description is one long line (wrapped by Cmud) and the time of day message is a part of the line with the rest of the description, you will have to remove it yourself.
What you would need to do is capture the line. Then edit the text the way you want. There are several ways you could remove the sentence--%match, or splitting it into sentences and dropping the first one, etc. Then use #TAG to set the description. After that, you will have to reconfigure the mapper so that it recognizes the TAGged information. |

Thank you very much. That sounds like a job for a day when I am feeling bright :) For now, I will just manually delete it.
