CMUD Layout not Saving

Remember this problem from awhile ago? My OS recently crashed, and so I've begun installing everything again. I installed CMUD and then put my old CMUD folder on top of the new one in My Documents > My Games. Interestingly enough, the packages didn't write right over, so I had to manually transfer them. However, the main issue is that the earlier problem I had with Layouts not saving has cropped up again. Neither auto-save nor "save session" layout works, despite "Use Layout" being checked off.

Here's a video of the problem:

My backup is pasted back in though, and the entire OS was wiped before that, so this is about as fresh an install as it gets without losing all of my settings...

What, exactly, have you done to try fixing this issue? I'm asking for specifics, because in a lot of cases what you "see" is actually a symptom and not the source of the problem. So, for example, you will see that there's a problem with your layout and go "aha, I can fix this using the SHIFT trick!" only to find it keeps happening despite fixing the layout. This sort of situation indicates that perhaps your package files or your map file, or even your sessions database, is corrupted and the SHIFT trick doesn't work on those.

If the source of your layout woes is actually, say, package corruption, and you didn't try the XML export/import process, you effectively did nothing.

What you're suggesting, then, is uninstalling and removing CMUD completely once more? And, instead of backing up the files, I would back up all of the XML for my sessions and manually reinstall everything inside of new sessions?

I can do that, I'll probably get to it tomorrow and report on the results then.

I haven't reported on what I've done mostly because the problem has me at a loss for what to do, so it's good to have advice one way or the other, hence my reporting this but not listing it as a "bug" officially yet. I figured it could be settings corruption, but wasn't sure how I could fix that without losing all of the triggers and aliases I've spent so long working on.
