Text display/enter delay (lag?) |
I play on several MU*’s and have several settings files. On one Mu* in particular whenever I receive or enter a block to text (5+lines) I get a 4-5 second delay (lag?) on either displaying it on screen or having it entered into the system.
Since it only happen with this one MU* and no other characters on it seem to have this trouble I can only assume it’s a settings problem but I can’t track it down. I’ve checked and double-checked all my settings with the other character settings I have and they –seem- to match up. Also all my accounts run logs through the atconnect alias but the trouble is with this Mu* alone. Also I’ve backed all my alias/trigger settings and deleted the whole Mu* folder and re-set it via the MUDconnector and re-added the alias’/triggers and the trouble remains.
This is most likely something I’ve overlooked 100 times and could probably research the trouble if I dug around more for it. But I’m at my wits end and would appreciate any suggestions/recommendations.
Thanks in Advance,
Joliver |

Does this happen with triggers turned off? It might be you just have so many triggers activating all at once and using up all your memory.
If it happens with triggers turned off, it's most likely a Preferences issue. The first one that comes to mind is the Refresh Amount. What this setting does is wait for that number of lines to fill up the queue before drawing them to the screen. A higher number will sometimes make things seem choppy and laggy even though you might have the best connection on the planet. |
