Need help with programming

I am trying to make a variable name based on a variable.. lol so its not working too well.. like I set a charname variable when I first log on using the list Zmud thing and then when I log off I want it to create a variable with the Charname and then PL at the end of it..and add the current pl.. I already got the triggers and such set up to record PL.. Its under the @base variable.. But So far I tried this
#alias atdisconnect {charname=@char"PL";
@charname=@base}
And all its given me was like
aonPL=608,100
For the charactername Aon and the PL being 608K.. Which is exactly what I want.. but the Zmud isnt seeing it as oh look I need to set this variable like it usually does when you type like Test1=600,000 it usually sets Test1 to 600,000.. but this time it just acts like its a command.. lol someone please help me before I lose my mind :P
