I was wondering is it possible to export a zmud map to an image file?

Well, you can hit the Print Screen key on your keyboard to get a copy of whatever is in your screen and the use an image editing program to save the image, but you can't save the image directly from zMUD.
However, zMapper will allow you to do this very soon, so you might want to check it out. Also, zMapper will integrate with zMUD as a plugin, so you will be able to save the map to an image file right from zMUD (ie. without having to open zMapper separetly).

You can also install a postscript printer driver, print to that using 'save to file' and use imagemagik to convert it to an image format..
(But probably its easier to wait for zMapper :)
