I'm New to Databases |
I've used zMud for quite a while now, and I'm really interested in learning to use the database features.
I'd like to build a database that lists all the available trainers, what they train (some things are trained by more than one trainer), the cost to train, prerequisites (if any), a short little note.
I have no fear of building the triggers to capture the good stuff, I just have no idea how to set up the database and populate it.
Does anyone have an example of a simple database that is created from a script and then populated with the triggers. Something similar to what I'm after would be fine as I'm happy to tinker once I have a basic understanding.
Any help would be GREAT help!
Thanks. |

Unfortunately, you cannot create the database structure from a script; it must be done manually. Fortunately, there are some templates provided which will give you a jump start -- the Mob database template would be a good starting point. You can edit and add to the fields in it to customize it. I strongly recommend that you complete the field structure before populating it, as editing the field structure can result in data loss.
