Questions about the the zMapper |
I am thinking of buying the new zMapper. But in the past I've had problems trying to configure it probably, havn't really took time to look into it really. But since my mud uses alot of special syntaxes like "climb wall", "enter waterfall", to reach new areas it was hard to configure. Also alot of areas existed that had weird exits, meaning going southwest, wouldn't take you one room southwest according to the rest of the rooms, it could take you two or even three, making it hard to connect the rooms in the mapper. What I am wondering is this, will it be easier to configure the new zMapper than it was before. Because I don't want to spend the money if I can't get it to work properly...
Regards,

Now not to sound condisending but the forum for this topic really should be zMapper forum. Okay now down to business. The new zMapper is not the program to ask this question about, all zMapper is is an external program to make beautiful maps. The program responsible for automatically generating a map as you walk around is zMUD. And (not speaking for Zugg) changes are being made that could have an impact on how easy automapping becomes, so stay tuned.
But as far as buying the new zMapper goes, do it if you want to build worlds off line and send them to a mud, do it if you like making pretty gifs of areas and posting them on the web for all mud users to enjoy, do it if the standard squares and lines just don't catch your fancy. |
